Master's Degree in Environmental and Industrial Risks

  • Ergonomics, health, and occupational risks
  • Quality, environment, and industrial risks

This master's degree aims to train ergonomists as well as managers in environment, health, and safety, and more generally managers specialised in the management of industrial and professional risks.

Professionals completing this course will have theoretical knowledge and a solid base in methods of risk management which, linked to professional experience acquired through supervised projects and internships, will enable them to devise and critically implement the tools and protocols to evaluate sociotechnical systems and to take part in project management.

The teaching staff is composed of jurists, economists, psychologists, ergonomists, managers, engineers, and occupational health doctors, all specialists in risks to persons and technical systems (particularly in the health, industry, and aeronautical sectors).

Key points about the course :

  • A gradual specialisation throughout the two years of the master's degree. At the beginning of the second year, two specialisations are offered: ergonomics, health, and occupational risks or quality, environment, and industrial risks.
  • Professional support throughout the master's, notably during the internships, the communication modules, and the writing of professional documents (quotations, reports, etc.), management training, business start-up, etc.
  • The course puts an emphasis on methods (intervention initiatives in ergonomics, environment health and safety, project management) and assessment techniques (chemical and psycho-social risks).
  • Apprenticeship for the Master 2 track in quality, environment, and industrial risks.
  • Students are selected upon application. Attention is given to maintaining a variety of academic backgrounds for students on initial training (psychology, sociology, sports science, etc.) while including students on continuous training.
  • Individual support for the student's career plan. This takes the form of setting up personal support as well as a portfolio of skills, job application simulations, etc. This could also take the form of personalised support for students wanting to pursue a doctorate (research thesis). For students on continuous training, support is offered for the accreditation of acquired skills and for effective progress in the course.

Links to Research

The Master's is supported by the ‘Science of Cognition, Technology and Ergonomy’ research group

The course has at its disposition a technical platform linked to ergonomics and the assessment of complex systems.Simulateurs of professional situations are used during the practical workshops. There is also a state of the art technical platform for the measurement and analysis of biometrics (force platform, accelerometer, EMG, ...)
