Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology

The Bachelor’s in Sociology offers a course in the humanities and social sciences that develops skills in the discipline as well as pre-professional, cross-cutting, and linguistic skills. Relying on field studies, the course focuses on the teaching of fundamental methods and theories to analyze societies and their evolution. This degree can lead to further studies at the master's or doctoral level.

The sociology bachelor’s allows graduates to compete in the various public service exams at the bachelor's level, as well as in the social work and health sectors (schools for youth educators, social workers, nurses). Graduates are employed in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in the fields of research and studies, human resource administration and management, education and training, social and cultural activities, regional planning and local development, polling, and information and communication.

The sociology degree at INU Champollion offers a course (semesters 1 to 6) with three specialisations :

  • the geography specialisation (semesters 1 to 6),
  • the preparation for the political science entrance competition (semesters 1 and 2),
  • the specialisation towards the teaching profession (semesters 3 to 6).
